Authorities drop threat level to orange after Galeras volcano eruption, but repeat evacuation warning

The Colombian Institute of Geology and Mining (Ingeominas) reduced the alert level for the Galeras volcano eruption to orange, on Wednesday. Authorities, however, have not dropped their guard asking the communities surrounding the volcano to move to shelters set up for their use. According to the Narino Regional Disaster Attention and Prevention Committee, only 813 people from 178 families have relocated to the shelters.
