Venezuela and Argentina Deepen Trade Relations
President Hugo Chavez and President Cristina Fernandez sign 25 agreements
President Hugo Chavez and President Cristina Fernandez signed 25 agreements related to food, technology and energy, thereby strengthening bilateral relations begun some years ago by Nestor Kirchner. In the case of Venezuela, we con't have a client relationship, but a strategic one, the Argentine leader said. Most of the new bilateral agreements are related to Petróleos de Venezuela's (Pdvsa) participation in technological exchanges with various Argentine firms, as well as to the creation of a mixed businesses to enable vehicular natural gas, according to Jorge Taiana, the Argentine chancellor. The Argentine president's visit also included her attendence at the the commemorative ceremony for the bicentennial of Venezuela's Declaration of Independence celebrated April 19, and as honorary speaker before the National Assembly.
