Crousillat Intended to Retake Control of Station
Former business owner manuevers in the north of Peru as police hunt him

Jose Enrique Crousillat, the former television station owner who is now a fugitive from justice, continues to manuever to retake control of the open America Television signal. Last week, he took an interim measure in the north of Peru, after a plan which included the registration of a supposed legal residence in the province of Motupe in the department of La Libertad (to the north of Lima). According to information provided by daily newspaper Peru 21, Crousillat rented a small home in the Nelly Quiroz Gonzales area for 300 soles monthly in early Jan. That home's address was later submitted as a fiscal address for the interim measure which seeks to retake control of America TV and which was received last week by judge Carlos Viteri Tena of the Motupe court. However, after noon Mon. March 15, it was reported that the measure was declared inadmissable. The former businessman is presently a fugitive from justice after the executive branch declared null the pardon granted Dec. 11, 2009 by President Alan Garcia, and after the judicial branch called for his arrest and detention last March 12 for crimes against the administration of justice. Crousillat was pardoned for humanitarian reasons due to his deterioriating health. The chairman of the Council of Ministers, Javier Velasquez, said today that it cannot be confirmed that the accused is in Peru, but that the police are searching for him. Photographs of the accused have been placed at immigration checkpoints. Meanwhile, the investigation continues to determine who forged the medical documents which allowed for the former businessman's pardon.
