One day from assuming the presidency, Sebastian Pinera receives 19 foreign delegations
The president-elect will receive 19 foreign delegations in the municipality of Santiago (only seven blocks from La Moneda). At 10:00 A.M. today Sebastian Pinera began an intense round of bilateral meetings, including meetings with the Prince of Asturias and the presidents of Colombia and Bolivia. The first delegation to arrive in the city was from China and headed by that nation's human resources and public security minister, Yin Weimin. The president-elect also has a meeting scheduled with the chairman of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno. He will also meet with former Spanish governmental leader Jose Maria Aznar, and later will receive delegations from France and Mexico. Finally, Pinera will hold a meeting with Bolivia's President Evo Morales with whom he will also attend a soccer event dedicated to the victims of the earthquake.
