Ecuador and Iran Sign Hydroelectricity Agreement
Representatives from both countries signed an agreement for the construction of three hydroelectricity plants in Ecuador

After an official visit from Ecuador's Vice President Lenin Moreno to the Islamic nation, delegations from both firms signed an agreement for the construction of three hydroelectricity plants on Ecuadoran territory, the president's office reported. The agreement was signed in the city of Shiraz by the delegations from both nations and refers to "three hydroelectricity centers; two large ones, and a small one, with participation from Iran," according to the official report. Ecuador hopes to make progress on several hydroelectricity projects for which it is seeking foreign financing apart from the traditional multilateral organizations.
