Depending on what happens in the U.S., the Mexican economy could grow more than 3 or 4% of GDP this year, said former Banco de Mexico governor, Guillermo Ortiz, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In turn, the IMF updated its figures for Mexico and projects 3.3%, up to 4%, growth in 2010. According to a UN study, Mexico is the second largest economy in Latin America and suffered most in the region from the global crisis and will see estimated growth of 3% of GDP in 2010, having fallen 7% in 2009.
