Venezuelan Military Dynamites Two Border Bridges
Defense Minister Gabriel Silva reported that it appears as if the Venezuelan army destroyed two pedestrian bridges linking Colombia with Venezuela
Defense Minister Gabriel Silva said that some members of Venezuela's military traveling in a tuck showed up in the municipality of Ragonvalia (north of Santander) and proceeded to dynamite the suspension walking bridges which served the Colombian population and the neighboring country's. "Today, [Thurs.] in the north of Santander, uniformed men who arrived in trucks on the Venezuelan side, apparantly from the Venezuelan army, located two bridges they themselves had constructed and blew them up putting the civil population in danger," Silva said. The official reported that tomorrow a security council will review the situation. After learning of the act, Vice Chancellor Clemencia Forero said that the government will proceed to make a complaint to the secretary general of the OAS and the UN Security Council.
