Government Calls on the FARC's Commitment
According to high commissioner for peace, Frank Pearl, the government is willing to accept partial hostage deliveries provided there is a commitment to free them all
The high commissioner for peace, Frank Pearl, said today that the FARC guerrillas’ announcement to free soldiers Pablo Moncayo and Joshua Calvo, and release Major Julian Guevara’s remains, is not enough. Pearl said the Government is prepared to receive partial hostage deliveries as long as the rebel group agrees to return the 24 soldiers and police they’ve kidnapped. This announcement comes at a time when Sen. Piedad Cordoba and former President Ernesto Samper seek support from Mexico and the Dominican Republic in the release of the hostages.
