Seven States Bounce Back
Led by Chiapas, several states reported manufacturing activity increases in July

Figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) indicate that seven Mexican states registered positive numbers in manufacturing activity during July. In annual terms, Chiapas saw 17% growth, Morelos 12.4%, Guanajuato 5% and there were increases of less than 5% in Nayarit, Aguascalientes, Sonora and Sinaloa. According to INEGI, the remaining 25 states showed negative numbers in factory production. Nationally, manufacturing recorded a 9.9% drop in July.
