Surveys Do Not Favor Correa
President Rafael Correa’s approval rating reached 44% in Oct., the Cedatos-Gallup polling firm revealed
In its most recent survey, the Cedatos-Gallup polling firm revealed that President Rafael Correa’s approval rating on his management and credibility showed a downward trend. Cedatos noted that the president's approval rating reached 44% in Oct. as a result of an uncontrollable downward trend from 70% in Jan., and 56% in April, when he won the presidential election in the first round, 52% in July, and to 49% in Sept. The survey also indicates that the president’s credibility dropped from 44% in Sept. to 40% in Oct. For the polling firm, these results were driven by recent protests made by social groups, and corruption allegations made against officials close to the president. The survey consulted 1,668 people in the country's major cities.
