Border Harrassment
Business owners in San Antonio del Tachira complain of harrassment by illegal groups

Business owners from Bolivar, Pedro María Ureña, Junín and San Antonio, in the state of Táchira, complained that they are being harrassed by illegal groups while the Venezuelan authorities do nothing to resolve the problem. the chairman of the Fedecamaras chamber in the frontier town of Jose Rozo asked the government on local radio to carry out their responsibilities of "looking out for the security and social development of all inhabitants" and added that at least 7,000 people depend on commercial activity. The always troubled border, which recently suffered 10 deaths, including two Colombian victims, has heated up. Operational Command in the area said five people have been detained and three border cities have been militarized.
