Ositran confirms new railway operators
The Supervising Agency of Public Transportation Investment and Infrastructure (Ositran) said that at the end of September, or the beginning of October, two new railway operators will be added to the Cusco-Machu Picchu route. The president of the state agency, Juan Carlos Zevallos, said the route's business franchise, Ferrocarril Transandino (Fetransa), has already authorized the entrance of the firms Andean Railways and Inca Rail, which have operated in the area since 1999 through Peru Rail. All that is needed is for Fetransa to sign contracts with both companies, which will be supervised by Ositran.
